Our Story
Live Oak Landscape Construction was founded in 1978 by John Gilpin and James Clabaugh after they graduated from Cal Poly with a bachelor of science in horticulture. We are a local family-owned landscape contractor headquartered in Downtown Vacaville, and have been providing top-quality landscaping services in Northern California for over 45 years. Our team of experienced professionals is committed to ensuring your outdoor spaces look their best.

Our Team
Live Oak Landscaping is managed by Andrew Foust, with oversight and guidance from founder John Gilpin. Our team consists of experienced professionals who are passionate about what they do. Our chief construction foreman Andres Vasquez has been with us for over 35 years!
When John began considering retirement, he brought in Andrew to help lead Live Oak Landscaping and continue its legacy of creating exceptional outdoor spaces. Andrew is a second-generation landscaper, who worked in his father's landscaping company in Wisconsin, before earning his bachelor of science degree and transitioning to project management and consulting.
Andrew is passionate about creating exceptional outdoor living spaces and has managed landscaping projects of all sizes over the years. We work tirelessly to ensure we set the highest standards for quality and reliability in Northern California. We are committed to providing our customers with exceptional service and ensuring their complete satisfaction.
